A recent death and several injuries in the Red Sea are being blamed on a type of shark - the Oceanic Whitetip. Officials believe the Oceanic Whitetip Sharks were attracted close to shore near Sharm El-Sheikh after a boat dumped dead cattle into the water. Some environmentalists say the sharks moved closer to shore, due to a lack of food. This time on the Shark Task Force, we take a closer look at this shark - and why it's always investigating its surroundings.

In 1969, the Oceanic White Tip was described as "perhaps the most abundant large animal, large being over 100 pounds on the face of the earth." In some spots - estimates are this shark has been wiped out by man, by as much as 99%. It's hard to accurately estimate what's happened to the Oceanic White Tip. This time on the Shark Task Force, we start a special series and meet this incredible creature, face to face.

Shark Task Force Executive Producer, George C. Schellenger, takes us behind the scenes as he encounters a Great Hammerhead at close range. On a recent trip to the Bahamas he came eye-to-eye with this alien-looking fish - and he swam away with new passion to protect all sharks. This comes as countries at a UN meeting reject a proposal to protect Hammerheads. Sharks in this category may have dropped 85% or more, due to overfishing and the demand for the Hammerhead's fins. The Shark Task Force is lucky to travel the world in search of sharks. Of all the places we've been - Tiger Beach in the Bahamas is probably our favorite. When you visit the various dives sites of Tiger Beach, it looks like there are many sharks. A closer look reveals in most cases, it's the same group of sharks. That makes conservation and protection even more critical. George Schellenger takes a closer look in this episode of the Shark Task Force.
